Col. Binay Kumar (Retd) and Mrs. Saroj Kumar have dedicated their lives to service, community empowerment, and sustainable development. After a distinguished military career, Col. Kumar returned to Hazaribagh with a commitment to “give back to society,” using his experience, skills, and resources to uplift local communities.
Their work today spans sustainable agriculture at Prakriti Biotech Farm, accessible community eye care through the Rohini Devi Rotary Eye Hospital, women’s vocational empowerment, and innovative environmental engineering solutions including the Prakriti Jal Urja Pump.
Together, they continue to create opportunities, restore livelihoods, and improve quality of life across Hazaribagh and surrounding regions.

Prakriti Biotech Farm
A model of organic farming inspired by traditional knowledge and modern sustainability practices. The farm produces organic crops, supports local livelihoods, and serves as a learning hub for environmentally conscious agriculture.
Rohini Devi Rotary Eye Hospital
A community-focused hospital offering cataract surgeries, screenings, and preventive care. Dedicated teams ensure that quality eye care is accessible to all, regardless of income.
Rotary Community Work
Through local and international partnerships, Rotary initiatives support education, health camps, disaster relief, vocational training, and programs designed to uplift underserved families.
